As part of a large-scale project led by Amsler DOM architectes associés, our workshop had the honor of participating in the restoration of the historic furnishings of the Notre-Dame Basilica in Lausanne. We created and adapted bespoke furniture, combining respect for heritage with artisanal expertise. This commitment to preserving the spirit of the place while introducing new elements was a testament to our dedication.
Restoration of the 1930s benches
The original benches, dating from the 1930s, have been carefully restored by our cabinetmakers.
Each element was dismantled, transported, and stored before being reinstalled according to the new layout plan. The operation required appropriate logistics, including transport and installation carried out using lifting equipment adapted to the site's constraints.
Liturgical furniture and custom-made creations
In addition to the pews, our team of master cabinetmakers also restored several pieces of liturgical furniture, collaborating with our upholsterers for the textile elements. To complement these restorations, we created new pieces of furniture designed according to the specifications of the office. Amsler DOM Architectes to harmonize with what already exists.
Particular care was taken with the patinated finish of the oak, allowing the new creations to blend into the historical ensemble of the Basilica.
